Pêra
The local residents of Pera used to keep their fishing boats in Armaçao de Pera and still today there is a beach known as 'Fisherman's beach' because of the small boats sitting in the sand.
While Armaçao de Pera gets extremely busy during the summer, Pera remains relatively quiet and unspoilt, a typical Algarvian village.
Boasting one of the longest beaches in the Algarve, Praia Grande, stretches from Salgados to Armacao de Pera. It is a wonderful walk with lovely beach restaurants at either end to rest and refuel before walking back.
There are plenty of fish restaurants in the area and Armaçao de Pera can be quite lively in the evenings with bars, shops and restaurants along the promenade.
